Garmin Jr. App: I Am Having Issues Syncing Data From My vivofit Jr.

The troubleshooting tips below can help when you are having an issue with syncing data from the watch to the Garmin Jr. app.

The App Must Remain Open in the Background for iOS Users

For iPhone/iPad users, the app cannot be closed and must remain open in the background. If the app is closed data will not sync from the Garmin Jr. device.

Try Manually Syncing

The device will periodically send data automatically to the nearest paired mobile device, but you can also manually send data at any time by following these steps:

  1. Bring the vivofit jr. near your mobile device.

  2. Open the Garmin Jr. app.

  3. On the vivofit jr., hold the key until you see the signal bars icon.

  4. Wait a few seconds until the red move bar icon begins to slide back and forth.

    • Once connected two rotating arrows will appear on the device indicating that data is being uploaded.

  5. From the app, swipe down to refresh data.

Is the Software on the Watch Up to Date?

NOTE: The watch must be kept near the paired mobile device during the transfer of a software update, which can take up to 10 minutes. Failure to do so may result in it being unable to finish syncing.

Follow these steps to make sure the device up to date.

  1. Bring the vivofit jr. near your mobile device.

  2. Open the Garmin Jr. app.

  3. On the vivofit jr., press and hold the button until signal bars is displayed on the screen, then release the button.

  4. two rotating arrowswill appear while the sync is in progress.

  5. cloud with an arrow pointing down will appear while the software update is transferred.
