flyGarmin Update: Managing and Sharing Aircraft

The flyGarmin.com® website has recently been updated to allow users to better manage their aircraft within their organizations.  With the new flyGarmin website, an aircraft may only be listed on one account.  The flyGarmin account the aircraft gets added onto is considered the Aircraft Owner.  As the Aircraft Owner you can:

  • Purchase Databases.

  • Update/Install Databases.

  • Edit Select Aircraft Details.

  • View Aircraft.

  • Assign Aircraft Roles.

As noted above, you can share the aircraft with other flyGarmin account users.  This will allow the aircraft to show under the shared user's account.  As the Aircraft Owner, you can assign different roles to each shared aircraft user.  The table below includes all of the available roles you can assign a user:

To Get to the Aircraft Sharing Settings:

After signing into the Owner or Aircraft Administrator's account on flyGarmin:

  1. Select Devices.

  2. Select Manage Sharing next to the aircraft.

  3. To add a user, select +ADD USER.

  4. Enter the user's email they use to sign into their flyGarmin account.  If they do not have a flyGarmin account, they will first need to create one.

  5. Select which permissions this individual user should have.

  6. Select ADD USER.

This page allows you to view a list of pending invites of users who who have been invited but have not yet accepted the invite.  Once the user has accepted the invitation, they should show under the Current Users list.
