Installing the Latest Software on Your Garmin Device
The following are options for your Garmin device to receive software updates that are released.
Garmin Connect App
The Garmin Connect™ app will download software updates automatically behind the scenes while your device is connected to your mobile phone. There are no steps required for you to take to get the latest software. Generally, any released updates may take up to a week to download before prompting you to install on your device.
Garmin Express
Garmin Express™ software provides the ability to check for and download software updates automatically each time you connect your device to the computer. In addition, available map updates for devices that feature onboard mapping can be updated using Garmin Express. Follow the installation instructions through the link below.

Wi-Fi
Devices that have the ability to connect to Wi-Fi® will be able to update the software via a Wi-Fi sync. To see if your device has the ability to use Wi-Fi, see your owner's manual.
Garmin Beta Program
Garmin provides a public beta software program where users can enroll in and install software updates that are still under development.
