Requesting Weather Forecasts With the GPSMAP® 66i/67i/86i/86sci
The GPSMAP® 66i, 86i, and 86sci devices are able to request Basic, Extended, or Marine weather forecasts for viewing on the device or in the Garmin Explore™ app. With up-to-date software, the GPSMAP 67i automatically provides both premium/extended forecast data and marine forecast data, if available, whenever a new forecast is requested. This article will cover how to request weather forecasts from the inReach® device only. For information on requesting weather using the Garmin Explore app, see - Requesting Weather Forecasts With the Garmin Explore App.
Important Notes
Updating a forecast incurs data charges or additional usage charges.
A marine forecast will be included for locations on an ocean or other large body of water, if available. If you are unable to get a marine forecast, select a location further from shore.
For more information about Basic, Extended, and Marine weather, see - Frequently Asked Questions on Weather for inReach.
The GPSMAP 66i/67i/86i/86sci devices have two weather options: inReach Weather and Active Weather. This article is for inReach Weather only. For information on Active Weather, see - Differences Between inReach Weather and Active Weather.
