Setting Sleep and Wake Window Times in Garmin Connect

Setting up your sleep and wake time serves two purposes:

  • Establishes the standard window of time to assist in sleep detection

  • Establishes a window of time to put the watch in Sleep Mode as an automatic Do Not Disturb mode

Editing the Sleep and Wake Window

Some watches require you to adjust the sleep times within the settings for the Garmin Connect™ app, some watches require you to adjust the sleep times within the device settings, and some watches can adjust sleep times on the watch itself. If you do not see the sleep options in the Garmin Connect app settings, check the instructions for adjusting sleep times through your device settings. Refer to your owner's manual for steps to change the sleep times on the watch.

Garmin Connect App

NOTE: Some settings can only be changed directly on the Garmin watch, in which case you may receive an "Update Setting on Device" prompt.

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select your device.

  5. Select the appropriate option for your watch:

    • For watches with a Sleep Focus Mode: Settings > Focus Modes > Sleep > Schedule > select a day to adjust.

    • For watches with a Sleep Mode Schedule: System > Sleep Mode > Schedule > select a day to adjust.

    • For watches without a sleep schedule, select: User Settings > Normal Bed Time or Normal Wake Time.

      NOTE: To check if your watch has Focus Modes or Sleep Mode, search your owner's manual.

  6. Make the desired changes.

The changes will be reflected on the watch immediately if your watch has Real Time Settings or after the next sync. 


Garmin Connect Web

NOTE: Devices compatible with Real Time Settings will not be able to make changes using Garmin Connect web. See the Garmin Connect app steps above or refer to your owner's manual

  1. From a web browser, sign into Garmin Connect.

  2. Select watch icon (top right).

  3. Select Device Settings on desired activity tracker.

  4. Select User Settings.

  5. Edit Normal Sleep Time information.

  6. Select Save Settings (bottom of page).
