Manually Downloading Netlink Data XMap

To manually download maps or imagery from the NetLink service you will first need to submit a NetLink download through a DeLorme® software program.

Note: XMap® Software has been discontinued. Support is now provided through documentation in the Support Center. XMap data format has not.

Instructions for submitting a download through a copy of DeLorme software can be found in related content.

Once the download has processed you will receive an e-mail notification from NetLink.

To Manual Download Maps or Imagery for Use in DeLorme Software

1. Click the link in the e-mail labeled as Desktop.
   
   
   
2. Your web browser will display options for saving or opening the file. Save the file to your desktop for easy access.
   
   
   
3. After the file is downloaded, browse to it on your computer and open it. 
   
   
   
4. Use the Shift or Ctrl button on your keyboard to select all of the files for the downloaded imagery. The files for a download for a DeLorme program will have ADC, TDS, IND, or DAT file extensions.
   
   
   
5. Right-click the selected files and click Copy.
   
   
   
6. Browse to DeLorme Docs\Downloads. A default installation of DeLorme Street Atlas or Topo will place the DeLorme Docs folder directly on the C:\ drive.
   Note: If using XMap, browse to the DeLorme Docs\NetLink\Downloads folder in Documents.
   
   
7. Right-click in an empty space and choose Paste. 
   
8. Once the copy has completed, open the DeLorme program to view the downloaded maps or imagery. If the DeLorme program was already open you will need to restart the software to view the data.

To Manual Download Maps or Imagery for Use on a PN-series GPS

IMPORTANT: Notification e-mails of NetLink downloads will only contain handheld files if the Include maps for my DeLorme PN-Series GPS with my order option was selected during download creation.

1. Click the link in the e-mail labeled as Handheld.
   
   
   
2. Your web browser will display options for saving or opening the file. Save the file to your desktop for easy access.
   
   
   
3. After the file is downloaded, browse to it on your computer and open it.
   
   
   
4. Use the Shift or Ctrl button on your keyboard to select all of the files for the downloaded imagery. The files for a download for a PN-series GPS device will have PM0 or YBR file extensions.
   
   
   
5. Right-click the selected files and click Copy.
   
   
   
6. Browse to DeLorme Docs\Mobile Maps. A default installation of DeLorme Street Atlas or Topo will place the DeLorme Docs folder directly on the C:\ drive.
   Note: If using XMap, browse to the DeLorme Docs\Mobile Maps folder in Documents.
   
   
7. Right-click in an empty space and choose Paste.
   
   
   
8. Once the copy has completed, connect your PN-series GPS device to your computer and open an Exchange or Sync in the DeLorme program to transfer the downloaded data to the unit. If the DeLorme program was already open you will need to restart the software to access the data.
