Removing Maps From an Outdoor Handheld
This article will walk you through removing supplemental mapping from your outdoor handheld.1 Carefully read the important notes below before continuing.
IMPORTANT
Only take the steps outlined in this article if you are confident in determining which files need to be removed from your outdoor handheld.
Do not delete gmapprom, gmapbmap, or gmaptz files.
Deleting some files in your outdoor handheld can harm your device and make it unusable.
Maps downloads expire one year after purchase. If you are deleting downloadable content that is older than one year, you will not be able to download the map again and you will need to repurchase the map.
Deleting the wrong map image file from your device may remove preloaded mapping. The preloaded mapping may not be able to be recovered.
When downloading additional maps, it is highly recommended that you download them to a microSD card if your device supports a microSD card. For more information on microSD card requirements, see - List of Outdoor Handheld Interface and MicroSD Card Requirements.
