Activating a Free Red Light and Speed Camera Trial to an Automotive Device

A free one-time download for Red Light and Speed Camera Data is available for download to compatible devices. It is not possible to install a free trial for more than one region, as each device is limited to a single 30-day trial. If you wish to receive further updates, a new subscription can be purchased.

NOTE: Some devices come with a free trial of the Red Light and Speed Camera data already pre-installed. On these devices, you will need to purchase a new subscription to receive further updates.

To Add a Free Trial of Red Light and Speed Cameras to Your Device:

1. Download and install Garmin Express™ software on your computer
2. Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable 
3. Open Garmin Express 
4. Choose or add a device
   • If needed, steps for adding your device to Garmin Express can be found in the following article:  Adding and Removing Devices in Garmin Express
5. Click Store
6. Select your region from the drop-down menu, then click Continue
7. Click Safety Cameras
8. Locate the desired Red Light and Speed Camera / Safety Camera region in the list
9. Select 30-day Free Trial under the desired region, then click Install
10. Review the Terms and Conditions, then click Accept
11. Click the  download icon

The Red Light and Speed Camera information are now available on your device.

When you complete the download of the free trial, your device will retain information about red light and speed camera locations as of that date. As the information becomes outdated, you can purchase a one-year subscription for your device through Garmin Express. See Purchasing and Installing a Red Light and Speed Camera Subscription.
