Using a GT56UHD Transducer with a White Kraken Trolling Motor
As the focus of the white Force® Kraken Trolling Motor has been with the offshore user in mind, it does not come with a built-in transducer, allowing the user to choose their own. If the user of a white Kraken decides that they'd like to use a GT56UHD transducer in a fashion like how they come installed on a black Kraken, there are several considerations:
Garmin does not currently offer a white nose that allows for a GT56UHD transducer installation. If this is desired, a black nose cone must be used
Unlike the black Kraken trolling motors, the coil cable utilized on white Kraken trolling motors does not have a sonar connection. If using the GT56UHD-TR transducer, which has a custom length cable that ends in the shaft cap, a 12-pin extension cable will be required for exiting the shaft cap and reaching the sonar connection of a chartplotter
- It is also possible to use a GT56UHD-TM instead of a GT56UHD-TR, which has a 25 ft long cable. In this installation, the cable will route up the shaft and then directly out of the shaft cap in the designated exit location. Keep in mind that this transducer does not come with a transducer replacement kit, which provides cable grommets and other hardware utilized for water-proofing the installation. This is a separate purchase if choosing this option
Also, keep in mind that a 12-pin extension cable may still be needed if the 25 foot cable is not long enough to reach the chartplotter.
