Apple: GPS Position/Current Location Is Not Correct
NOTE: Wi-Fi-only iPad models do not have an internal GPS receiver and will not display or track your current location outside of Wi-Fi.
Cellular-capable devices (iPhone and iPad) will have an internal GPS receiver. If you are not able to display your position on your Navionics® Boating app, check that your Location Services are turned ON.
- Go to your device home screen
- Tap Settings
- Tap Privacy
- Tap Location Services
- Turn Location Services ON
- Tap Boating in the listing of apps.
- Be sure the Navionics app is selected to Always and that Precise Location is ON.
If the app is not tracking your position (recording a track), make sure that Do Not Disturb While Driving is set to Manually.
- Go to Settings
- Tap Focus
- Select DRIVING
- Scroll down and tap While Driving
- Set to Manually
If your location is still inaccurate, open your Maps app and determine if your location is accurately being reported. If it is not, it is possible there is something wrong with your installation of iOS and/or the hardware in your device.
If your location is accurate in the Maps app, but you are still unable to locate your position properly in the Navionics app, email us from your app: Menu > Submit Feedback. Be sure to note that you have already tried forcing GPS services to refresh (as this will be the first thing we ask you) and confirmed your location permissions.
