Using the Hydration Widget on an Approach S70 Watch

An Approach® S70 - 42mm or Approach® S70 - 47mm watch is compatible with the Garmin Hydration Tracking widget. To start using this widget, you must first add the Hydration Tracking widget through the Connect IQ™ Store. For steps on downloading apps from the Connect IQ Store, see - How to Install Connect IQ Content Using the Connect IQ Store App.

Once installed, the Hydration Tracking widget will allow you to start tracking your fluid intake from your watch.

Adding Fluid

  1. From the clock screen, swipe up to scroll through your available widgets until you get to the Hydration Tracking widget.
  2. Touch the glance of the widget to open the full Hydration Tracking widget.
  3. Touch + or - to add or subtract the amount of fluid.
  4. Press the Back button to exit out of the Hydration Tracking widget.
NOTE: The amount of fluid you add or subtract automatically saves after the entry.

Changing Settings

The Hydration Tracking widget allows for setting automatic hydration goals, the units of measure for fluids, hydration alerts, and containers. Press the Menu button while viewing the Hydration Tracking widget to access these settings.

Syncing Hydration Data With Garmin Connect

Unlike other recorded fitness data, your fluid intake data will only upload to Garmin Connect™, through the Garmin Connect app, when you are accessing the Hydration Tracking widget on the watch. Hydration data will not sync through the Garmin Express™ program.

If the hydration data in Garmin Connect does not match what you have tracked on the watch, follow these steps:

  1. Swipe up from the watch face to scroll through your available widgets until you get to the Hydration Tracking widget.
  2. Open the Garmin Connect app on a connected smartphone.
  3. Wait a few moments to allow time for the fluid intake data to upload.
  4. Swipe down on the My Day screen to refresh the Garmin Connect app or tap on "hydration" to see the updated data.
