Button Layout on the GPSMAP 66i/67i/86i/86sci

The Buttons and Their Functions

  • Power: Hold for one second to power the device on or off. While the device is on, a quick press will open the status display.

  • Keypad: Pressing the arrows on this rocker button will help you pan the map around or move the cursor.

  • Enter & Quit: Enter is used to select the item you've highlighted with the Keypad. Quit serves as the Back button for menus, and as a Page button scrolling item selections to the right.

  • Page: Scrolls item selections to the left.

  • Menu: Pressing this button once gives extra options on most screens. Pressing this button twice opens the main menu from any screen.

  • Find: Pressing the Find button is the first step to starting a navigation, and opens a menu of destination or route selections to help you get where you want to go.

  • Mark: Saves a waypoints at the spot you are standing. Editing the coordinates after pressing Mark allows you to save a waypoint after entering the coordinates of that spot.

  • + & - : These used to scroll menus up and down, or to zoom the map out or in.
    66i Plus and Minus
  • SOS: The SOS button is under a protective cover to help prevent accidental activation. Pushing on the front of this button opens the flap, revealing the recessed SOS button that should only be pressed in an emergency. The SOS button requires an active inReach subscription to be used to call for help.
