USB Flash Drive not Detected by a Honda Vehicle

Communication issues can prevent your USB flash drive from being recognized by your vehicle. 

  • Ensure the flash drive is 16GB and has been formatted to FAT32.
    • The Honda Navigation System update requires a 16GB USB flash drive. Using a USB flash drive smaller or larger than 16GB can cause the map update process to be unsuccessful.
  • Ensure the proper USB port in the vehicle is being used.
    • Try a different USB port if the vehicle has the ability to use more than one.
    • See Honda Navigation Map Update for info on which USB ports can be used in your vehicle.
  • Try a different formatted 16GB flash drive.
    • We suggest using a different brand or variation of 16GB flash drive.
    • Garmin has not tested any specific USB flash drive for map update use.
