Using the Garmin Dash Cam Tandem's Built-In Wi-Fi

The Garmin Dash Cam Tandem can generate its own Wi-Fi network used while performing specific tasks such as updating software, viewing Live View, and viewing Videos and Photos in the connected Garmin Drive app. 

This Wi-Fi connection is different from traditional types of connections to Wi-Fi such as at home, an internet cafe, etc. The Garmin Drive app and a compatible smartphone establish a unique and exclusive Wi-Fi connection between it and the Garmin Dash Cam Tandem.

Viewing Live View

Review Videos and Photos (Gallery)

• • To view, trim, delete, export, and save dash cam videos

Tandem Software Updates

• • An update notification will appear in the Garmin Drive app when your dash cam is paired

Updating a Garmin Dash Cam with the Garmin Drive App

Join or Connect to the Network

After selecting any of the above, you will be prompted to Join or Connect to the DC Tandem Network in the Garmin Drive app. 

• • This Wi-Fi connection can take several minutes and take several attempts to successfully connect

  • There is no password prompt to enter

  • There is no need to go into your phones Wi-Fi settings to enable or establish this Wi-Fi connection

  • This Wi-Fi connection is done while in the Garmin Drive app only

The Garmin Dash Cam Tandem will Show the Following LED Flashing Lights when in Wi-Fi Sharing Mode or Updating:

• During Wi-Fi sharing mode the LED light will slowly flash Blue

• During an update, the LED light will flash Green
  
  • The LED light will change to a solid Red (recording mode) when the update is complete. This may take a few minutes.

NOTE: The Garmin Dash Cam Tandem will not record while in viewing Videos and Photos (Gallery) or updating modes. It will continue to record while in View Live View.

Exit the Gallery in the Garmin Drive App to allow the device to start recording again.
