What is Used to Calculate Calories on My vivoactive Series Watch?
Depending on what accessories are used with the watch, calories burned will be calculated in the following order:
- Firstbeat - calculated using heart rate user profile data
To learn more about Firstbeat and the technology used in Garmin devices, visit their website and select your Garmin model: Firstbeat
Fitness Equipment - calculated using ANT+ enabled fitness equipment
Speed, Distance, and User Profile - calculated using speed, distance, and user profile data (height, weight, age, activity class, etc.)
The device will automatically choose the appropriate method. There will be slight variations depending on the method used.
