Routes can be created on the computer in programs such as Garmin BaseCamp™ and then transferred to certain models of devices, or to an SD memory card. Once the created routes have been transferred, they can be accessed on the device.
To Access a Transferred Route, Follow the Instructions Below:
- Touch Apps
- Touch Route Planner
- Touch Import
- Place a checkmark next to the file you want to import
- Touch OK
- Place a checkmark next to Routes
- Touch Next
- Touch Import
- If using Explore, you can select an existing collection or select a new collection to import the routes into first
The import will begin and display the message "Importing GPX files" indicating that the import is happening. It may take several minutes to import the routes. Once the import is complete, all transferred routes will be displayed under a category called Imported Routes in the Route Planner. Until the route(s) show up in Route Planner, do not turn off the device or connect it to a computer.
Once the route is imported into the device, it may not perfectly match the route you had created in BaseCamp. This is because a route will always use the navigation settings of the device itself.
