(2020) Service Bulletin 2055 Rev A: Approval of GDL 84/88 Main Software v3.42 in an Approved Model List of Part 23 Aircraft


PRODUCTS AFFECTED:

GDL 84/88 units installed under GDL 84/88 Part 23 AML STC SA02119SE are affected.

COMPLIANCE:

Recommended: Garmin recommends the incorporation of this TSO Service Bulletin at the next scheduled service interval.

PURPOSE:

This STC Service Bulletin provides notification of an update to the AML STC SA02119SE Master Drawing List revision 12.
MDL revision 12 includes the following changes:

  • Updated the GDL 84/88 to main software version 3.42.
    • Fixes an issue where some ADS-B traffic intruders may not be displayed when over 200 ADS-B intruders are within range

NOTE
Active TCAS surveillance is not affected by this issue.

  • WAAS Software Version 5.3 (if applicable) fixes a GPS date problem beginning August 16, 2020. The GDL 84/88 may report an incorrect GPS date if the GPS receiver has not acquired a 3D navigation solution within the last 128 weeks.
