When a handheld is being put into storage for the off-season certain factors, such as battery percentage and temperature can contribute to overall battery health.

Properly Storing Your Handheld
Follow the information and guidelines below to ensure proper storage of your device so the battery will last for years to come.
- Ensure the device battery is charged to 30-50%
- Before placing the device into storage make sure it is fully powered off
- Display timeout and power save settings can make it look like the device is powered off, when only the display is off
- If the battery pack or batteries are removeable, remove them from the device before storing
- Store the device and battery in a cool, dry place at a typical household temperature level (between 68ºF /20ºC and 77ºF/25ºC)
- Rechargeable batteries self-discharge gradually over time, so monitor and recharge batteries (30-50%) every 3 months while in storage
- You should recharge the device to 100% before using it again
