- Open the device's Settings menu

to turn Bluetooth on
- Place your phone in Discoverable/Find Me mode
- Instructions for this should be found in your manual/documentation for your smartphone
- Touch the name of your phone on the dezl device's Bluetooth page
- Touch Pair on the device and/or phone when the Bluetooth pairing code is displayed
- A message should display that the Garmin device successfully paired with the phone
- Touch Allow on your phone if prompted to "Allow Access to Contacts?"
- Open the Smartphone Link app on your phone and the device should connect

Setting Up/Pairing Smartphone Link Traffic on a dezl 780 and dezlCam 785
Live traffic information can be received through your compatible smartphone's data plan and can be sent instantly to your Garmin automotive navigator through the free Smartphone Link app. This information allows your Garmin device to display and help you avoid slow traffic due to accidents, construction, or other obstacles.

First, it is necessary to verify your smartphone is compatible with Smartphone Link. See the FAQ Smartphone Link Compatibility and Availability to verify your smartphone is compatible.

Confirming Traffic Service
After your device and phone have been connected via Smartphone Link, live traffic service should begin automatically.
To confirm you are receiving traffic from Smartphone link on your automotive device:
- Open the device's Settings menu
- Touch Navigation
- Touch Traffic
Smartphone Link should be listed as the current provider.
