How to Find the Serial Number on Your Alpha Dog Tracking Handheld

Alpha® 300, 200 and 100 Series Dog Tracking Handhelds

To locate the serial number on the device. 

1. Lift up the metal D-ring on the back of the handheld.
2. Turn the D-ring a quarter turn counter clockwise.
3. Remove the backing.
4. Remove the rechargeable battery.
5. The Serial number is located inside the battery compartment of the handheld. 

 

Alpha 10 Dog Tracking Handheld

To locate the serial number on the Alpha® 10 dog tracking handheld.

1. Using the supplied wrench, remove the belt clip spine.
2. Under the spine you will find the decal with the serial number.

Using Garmin Express™ Program to Locate Your Serial Number

Another way to get the serial number from your Alpha handheld is using Garmin Express to electronically retrieve the serial number using your compatible computer. To start you will need to download the Garmin Express program here, Garmin Express. Once installed and opened,

1. Using the supplied USB cable with your handheld connect the device to your computer.
2. If this is the first time you are using Garmin Express select Add Device follow the prompts to continue.
3. If your device was previously added select the device tile.
4. Select Tools & Content.
5. You will find the serial number listed un the Info tab.

Locating the Device Unit ID on an Alpha 100, 200, or 300 Dog Tracking Handheld

Within the setup menu of the device you can retrieve the devices unit ID to help identify your device. From the main menu,

1. Select Setup.
2. Select About.
3. The device ID is displayed in this menu.

Locating the Device Unit ID on an Alpha 10 Dog Tracking Handheld

In the Setup menu on the device you can locate the device's unit ID to help identify your device.

1. Press the Menu button.
2. Use the Thumb Stick to select Setup.
3. Toggle up to System and select.
4. Toggle up to About and Select.

The unit ID is listed in the about menu display.
