Elevation Profile on a Course Created in Garmin Connect

Courses in the Garmin Connect™ platform are planned routes generated from existing activities or created from scratch using the Create Course tool in Garmin Connect.

Courses created in Garmin Connect will generate an elevation profile when elevation data is available. This data can then be sent to any compatible device. Once loaded to a compatible device, the course can provide a preview of the elevation before you ride or run the course and you can see upcoming elevation changes as you go on devices that have an elevation page.

Courses from third party sites may not always provide this information.

NOTE: The GPS data gathered from your activity is calculated using professional surveys which contains elevation plots throughout the area you recorded your activity. This allows Garmin Connect to give you an estimated elevation reading for the activity that you recorded.
