Purchase Aviation Database Updates for a GPSMAP 695 or GPSMAP 696

Aviation database updates are managed through the flyGarmin website. 

A single user account is used to manage all of your aviation equipment.

To Purchase an Aviation Database through Fly.Garmin.com:

Database Updates are Purchased using a Device/System Profile and database updates are managed by aviation device.

1. Go to Fly.Garmin.com.

2. Select and Sign In to your existing account (or ‘Create One’).

3. Select Devices in the top banner.

4. Select the Aircraft System or Portable Device you want to purchase the Aviation Database for.

   • To Add a New Aircraft or Portable Device Profile:

     1. Select the Add Device button located on the top right-hand side of the Devices page.

     2. Select on the picture of the device you want to add to FlyGarmin.com.

     3. (GPSMAP 696: <menu> <menu> - Database Information - <enter> - Unit ID (near the bottom of the list))

     4. (GPSMAP 696: <menu> <menu> - System Setup - <enter> - Unit ID (at the bottom of the screen))

        • 

5. Select the Buy Databases button located to the right of the device name to bring up the coverage map.

6. Select the areas of the map where you will be flying.

   •  

7. Select on the type of subscription you would like (i.e. Annual Subscriptions, Single updates, or Bundles if offered), whether you want to include Flitecharts or not, and a Navigation data preference.

   • You can select Recommendations to see options offered based on the selected regions and equipment.

   • 

8. Select the Add to Cart button.

9. Enter the required billing information to complete the purchase.

10. Select the Install Updates button. 

    • If a bundle was purchased, select the Required Action: Redeem Bundle button to start the bundle subscription.

    • 

11. Then select the Install Updates button to begin the process of updating databases.

12. Databases must be installed to a memory card (i.e. SD data card - 8G or smaller).
