Sending an inReach Message With a PN-60w

Follow these steps to create and send a custom message of up to 160 characters to a predefined set of contacts from inreach.garmin.com or a new contact defined while in the field using the PN-60w and inReach for PN-60w.

1. See Related Content for instructions on how to pair a PN-60w with an inReach for PN-60w.
   
   
2. Once the devices are paired, select the Messages icon on the inReach page and press ENTER.
   
   
   
3. On the Messages page, select New Message and press ENTER.
   
   
   
4. To send a message to a new contact, select the To field and press ENTER. Type in the phone number or e-mail address for the recipient, highlight OK, and press ENTER. Repeat this process for each contact you want to send a message to. When all contacts are added, highlight OK and press ENTER.
   Note: Phone numbers must be entered with an area code.
   
   OR
   
   To send a message to a predefined contact sent to your device from inreach.garmin.com, move the cursor to the address book icon and press ENTER. Select the recipients to add to your message by highlighting each name and pressing ENTER. Press the QUIT button when finished.
   
5. To choose a predefined Quick Text message sent to your device from inreach.garmin.com, select the message drop-down menu and press ENTER. Use the up and down buttons to select the message you want to send and press ENTER.
   
   OR
   
   To write a custom message, highlight the Type message here... option and press ENTER. Write your custom message with the on-screen keyboard, highlight OK, and press ENTER.
   
6. Select the Send button and press ENTER. The PN-60w will send the message to the defined contacts.
