Traffic Information Provided by Garmin Speak and Garmin Speak Plus

Important: The Garmin Speak App has been replaced by the Garmin Drive App. To continue using the Garmin Speak along with more enhanced benefits, please visit the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) to download the Garmin Drive App. 

The Garmin Speak™ and Garmin Speak™ Plus receive traffic information from the Garmin Drive app. In order for the device to provide you with traffic data, the device must be connected to the Drive app and in an active route, i.e. navigating to a destination. Refer to the owner's manual to start a route.

To get information about traffic along your route through the device, say: “Alexa, ask Garmin, how’s traffic?”

The device will then notify you of any traffic detected along your route at that time. Depending on the estimated time of delay, it may also create a new route to avoid the traffic delay, or offer to create a new route:

• If a delay is less than 3 minutes, traffic will not be avoided.

• If the delay is between 3 and 15 minutes, and you've asked Alexa for an alternative route, the device will advise you of the traffic delay.

• If the delay is over 15 minutes, the device will automatically reroute.
