nuvi 600 Series Doesn't Have Any Sound

Check the Audio Output setting on the nuvi. There is a possibility that the FM Transmitter setting has been turned on or that the device has been muted.

To Check the Audio Output Settings:

  1. Touch the Speaker icon below the Wrench icon on the main menu screen
  2. Touch Audio Output at the bottom of the screen
  3. Make sure that Internal Speaker is selected and touch OK (Note: This does not apply to the nuvi 650)
  4. Remove the checkmark from the MUTE box by touching it

If you are still not getting any sound you may want to check the volume levels on the device:


To Check the Volume Levels:

  1. Touch and hold the Back button to return to the main menu screen
  2. Touch the Wrench icon
  3. Touch Volume
  4. Adjust the volume levels for the Navigation and the MP3/Audible

At this time you should be receiving sound on your device.

If checking the audio output settings and volume levels did not restore the sound on your device, you will need to ensure that you are running the latest software which can be done with Garmin Express
