Connecting a Serial Interface GPS to a USB port on a Windows Computer

If a Windows computer does not have a serial port, a third-party USB to Serial converter cable can be purchased. This will then add a virtual serial port to your PC.

Please be aware that most USB to Serial converter cables are not compatible with 64-bit Windows operating systems. There is no Mac compatibility. 

 Note: Garmin does not offer a USB to Serial converter cable online as all products that would require the cable have been discontinued.
