Pairing the tempe Sensor with a Garmin Watch

The tempe™ sensor can transmit ambient temperature data wirelessly to your compatible Garmin® watch. This sensor can attach to your backpack, jacket or shoe. To actively receive the temperature, the tempe sensor will first need to be paired. Use the steps below for a general guide. For specific steps, you will need to refer to your watch's owner's manual.

NOTE: The temperature widget displays the ambient temperature from the tempe sensor when paired or from the temperature sensor on your watch. This is different from the weather widget feature of select Garmin watches. The weather feature displays the forecast for your location.

  1. On the watch, access the Settings menu.

  2. Select Sensors & Accessories.

    • Some watches you will first need to select Connectivity.

  3. Select Add New.

  4. Select Search All Sensors.

  5. Select Tempe when it is found.

  6. The watch will show Connected when successfully paired.

After the initial pairing, the watch will connect to the in-range tempe sensor each time you start an activity. If you would like to see the temperature recorded by the tempe sensor in real-time you will need to set a related data field. Once you have concluded your activity or left the temperature widget page for more than 30 seconds, the watch will disconnect from the tempe sensor to conserve battery.

You can expect to see an Average, Minimum, and Maximum Temperature when viewing your recorded activity details in your Garmin Connect™ account.
