Databases are not Syncing on G3000 or G5000

Follow the Troubleshooting Steps below if Databases will not Sync on a G3000 or G5000 Flight Deck.

  1. Go to the Active Databases page on the Garmin Touchscreen Controller (GTC):
    1. Select Utilities.
    2. Select Setup.
    3. Select Database Info.
    4. Scroll all the way through to ensure that all databases say “Sync Completed” and there is no visible movement/progress of any databases.
  2. Waiting 1 full minute after receiving the GTC restart prompt is required before selecting restart to let the database system processors complete their cycle.
  3. Turn on the aircraft master switch to power up the avionics

Follow the Steps below if the System is still displaying the Previous Cycle for a Single Database after the Sync Completed:

  1. Power on only the affected GTC and its primary GDU (usually PFD1=GTC1, MFD=GTC2, PFD2=GTC2) by pulling the unaffected circuit breakers.
  2. Power On.
  3. Wait for the sync to complete.

If pulling the circuit breakers does not resolve this issue, then it could be an internal SD card corruption on the GTC 570 or GTC 575.

This can be confirmed in the configuration mode by Garmin dealers and OEM service centers.

Notes:

  • TBMs use the GTC 580 which does not have a MicroSD card, so this will not apply to those airframes.

  • Next Gen flight decks need to have a single SD card in the MFD bottom slot (not all three like the original G1000 method). If you are not sure if your flight deck is Next Gen or original, please contact aviation product support with your airframe and software version for confirmation.
