My vivosmart 4 Will Not Turn on or Charge
If your vivosmart 4 watch will not turn on or charge, please follow these steps:
- Ensure a quality USB source is used and avoid using any USB extensions. For details see: What Can I Use to Charge the Battery of My Garmin Fitness Device?
- Try plugging another device into the same source to ensure it is working and supplying power.
- Ensure the charge pins on both the watch and the charge connector are clean and dry and the charger is not damaged.
- The watch can be washed gently with warm water and a mild soap – a cotton swab may be helpful for cleaning the charge pins on the device but avoid any sharp or pointed object that might scratch or damage the unit or pads.
- Do not get the charging cable wet as it is not waterproof – it is recommended to just brush it off if it is visibly dirty.
- Ensure the charging cable correctly aligns with the unit and is fully seated.
- Given the small size of the watch it is possible the charger may not be aligned properly resulting in a poor connection.
- Gently wiggling the connector while connected to the watch can ensure it's in the correct place and stable.
- Confirm the watch display indicates it is charging.
- If the battery is completely discharged it may take several seconds (5-10) before any response is seen on the display.
- With a good connection the battery charge icon and/or boot screen should be observed within 30 seconds of plugging in.
