Cancelling an SOS for an inReach Satellite Communicator
IMPORTANT: An active inReach® subscription is required for SOS to function.
If you no longer need assistance, or if the SOS was unintentional, you can cancel an SOS rescue after it is sent to the emergency response service.
Ensure the device is outside with a clear view of the sky for satellite reception.
Lift the protective cap, and hold the SOS button.
NOTE: Cancelling an SOS on the inReach SE® device or inReach Explorer® device is performed by unlocking and holding the SOS button until the Cancel SOS message appears on the display.
Select Cancel or Cancel SOS.
If prompted to confirm your cancellation request, select Cancel SOS.
Your device transmits the cancellation request. When you receive a confirmation message from the emergency response service, the device returns to normal operation.
Cancelling an SOS Without an Active Device
If you do not have an active subscription for the inReach® satellite communicator the SOS function will not work. An unintentional SOS may be triggered making it hard to cancel. For steps to exit the SOS screen see the troubleshooting below.
