Updating the Software on a dēzl Headset

The dēzl™ Headset 100, dēzl™ Headset 110, dēzl™ Headset 200, and dēzl™ Headset 210 Premium Trucking Headsets can be updated using the dēzl™ App or the Garmin Drive™ App. The dēzl Headsets can only be paired to the Garmin Drive app if a compatible RV device has already been paired. See Using the dēzl Headset with a Compatible RV Device for more information.

The steps to update are the same for both apps.

NOTE: Do not turn off the headset while an update is installing. 

  • When an update is available, the dēzl™ app or Garmin Drive app sends it to the headset automatically.
  • The next time you start your headset, it notifies you that it is installing an update.
  • Or, you can start the update manually:

 

  • During the update, the Power LED light on the headset will stay illuminated.
  • The update takes a couple moments and the headset won't function while updating.
  • A progress bar will show during the update.
  • After the update is complete, each LED light on the headset will illuminate, then the headset restarts and operates normally.

  1. From the dēzl™ app or Garmin Drive app, select the gear icon
  2. Select the dezl Headset
  3. The software version will be listed
