Sending a Message from the Montana 700i or 750i
You can send messages from your Montana® 700i or 750i outdoor handheld by using the Iridium satellite network.
Messages can be sent to recipients in three ways:
As an SMS text to a phone number or satellite phone1
To an email address
To another inReach handheld
IMPORTANT: An active inReach subscription is required to send messages from the handheld.
Sending a Message From the Montana 700i or 750i Outdoor Handheld
Select
to access the main menu.
Select

Select Messages.
Select New Message. Any message threads will be listed here as well.
Select the desired option:
Type Message
Select the To: field, then select an option:
Select Type Recipient to type in recipients manually, then select
when finished.

Select recipients from the list, then tap
to return to the previous screen.
Select the Message: field to compose your message.
Send Quick Text
Select the desired Quick Text from the list.
Select the To: field, then select an option:
Select Type Recipient to type in recipients manually, then select
when finished.

Select recipients from the list, then tap
to return to the previous screen.
Send Location
Select the To: field, then select an option:
Select Type Recipient to type in recipients manually, then select
when finished.

Select recipients from the list, then tap
to return to the previous screen.
Select the Message: field if you wish to add to the default message containing your current coordinates.
Select Send Message.
The message should be sent to the recipients. Ensure your device is outside in a clear view of the sky so it is not delayed.
1 U.S. and Canada require a 1 and 10 digit phone number. Other regions require a +, a country code, and local number. The calling code for satellite phones will be either +8816 or +8817, which would then be followed by the eight-digit number of the satellite phone. Letters are not allowed.
