Training Load Is Different Between Garmin Devices Despite Using Physio Trueup

Garmin Connect users with multiple devices can use Physio TrueUp to keep much of their data in sync between their various devices, including training load, with some exceptions. The calculation methods for training load were updated with some 2019 and 2020 models of various device families. Devices that feature the new calculation methods include:

  • D2 Mach 1

  • Edge 530, 830,1030 and 1030 Plus

  • Enduro series

  • epix (Gen 2) series

  • fenix 6 series

  • fenix 7 series

  • Forerunner 245/245 Music

  • Forerunner 745

  • Forerunner 945/945 LTE

  • Forerunner 955/955 Solar

  • Instinct 2 series

  • MARQ Collection

  • tactix 7 series

  • tactix Delta series

Older products released prior to the ones above feature previous calculation methods for training load. If you own devices that feature different calculation methods, like a newer Edge 1030 Plus and an older Forerunner 935, your training load measurements may not appear the same even though both of your devices may be compatible with Physio TrueUp.
