Difference Between Outdoor Handhelds That Have Model Number XXX/XXXt
Garmin recognizes the convenience of preloaded maps and has elected to provide certain series with models that come with a preloaded topographic map. Models with preloaded topographic mapping typically have a "t" within their model name. Models that do not include topographic mapping usually will not have the "t". However, there are exceptions.

- Montana® 650t
- Oregon® 550t
- Oregon® 450t
- Oregon® 750t

Examples of handhelds that are preloaded with basic basemap:
- eTrex® Touch 35

To confirm specific features for a device, such as topographic mapping, visit the product page by selecting a device from our Hiking units and click the Specs tab for additional information about the device; this is an important step as some devices like the Alpha 100 handheld are preloaded with topographic mapping but do not indicate this in the model name.
