Troubleshooting Legacy Share Codes and Wireless Sharing
On the Alpha® 200 and Alpha® 200i dog tracking handhelds you are able to share dogs in your dog list wirelessly or share them with their track, train or control code. When doing this there are three main settings you will need to confirm to best use these features.
- The handheld needs to have the training buttons set up.
- The update rate needs to be at 2.5 seconds.
- The dog collar needs to be turned on and actively tracking.
Training Button Setup
With the training buttons automatically add when a new dog is paired saves you time from having to go in and set up multiple training pages for multiple dogs.
- Select Training Setup
- Select Training Defaults
- Select Add When Paired
Changing the Update Rate
You do not need to have the collar's update rate set to 2.5 seconds on the sending handheld. Having the dog collars update rate set to anything greater than 2.5 seconds can delay the receiving handheld from getting all the information from the sending handheld.
- Select Dog List
- Select Dog Name
- Select Update Rate
Actively Tracking
When sharing codes, or sharing dogs wirelessly from your dog list, the receiving handheld will need to be active and tracking that dog for at least 30 seconds before you are able to change training keys for that specific dog.
- Select Dog List from the main menu
- Select the Dog you want to confirm is active
- Select the Active slider if the dog is listed as inactive.
Do not turn off the dog collar or the handheld right after you share codes or share a dog wirelessly. Turning off either device can prevent the handheld from getting all the information that is needed for the sharing process to be successful.
