Differences Between Group Ride and Group Ride Mobile
See below for the differences between using the Group Ride feature on a compatible device with the Group Ride Radio and using the Group Ride Mobile feature in the Tread® App.
Group Ride on a Compatible Device Using the Group Ride Radio:
Requires a Kawasaki RIDGE 8" Tread Display, Tread®, Tread® - Base Edition, Tread® 2, Tread® - SxS Edition, Tread® Textron, Tread® - Overland Edition, Tread® XL - Baja Chase Edition, Tread® XL - Baja Race Edition, Tread® XL - Overland Edition, zūmo® XT or zūmo® XT2 GPS navigator and a Group Ride Radio.
The Group Ride Radio (5.5") (Sold separately) for the Tread - Base Edition and zumo XT
The Group Ride Radio (6", 8" and 10") (Sold separately) for the Tread - Overland Edition, Tread XL - Baja Chase Edition, Tread XL - Baja Race Edition, Tread XL - Overland Edition, Tread® 2, and zūmo XT2.
Off-grid with no external connection required.
Voice communication and group messaging is available.
The Kawasaki RIDGE 8" Tread Display does not include a Fist Mic
A headset can be paired for voice communications.
Range limit is 0.5-1.5 miles.
Range performance varies based on terrain and other line-of-sight limitations.
For the best experience, keep your Tread® series device connected to a powered Group Ride Radio mount while a group ride is active. Group tracking and two-way messaging are not available when the device is disconnected from the powered Group Ride Radio mount.
- The Fist Mic is not required to be connected or used with the Group Ride Radio mount in order to use group ride.

Group Ride Mobile Using the Tread App:
Smartphone with Tread App installed and an active cellular connection required.
No device is required.
Tread devices and the zūmo XT2 can join a mobile Group Ride if they are connected to the Tread App via Bluetooth.
Must be using a compatible Android smartphone/tablet or iPhone/iPad.
An active cellular connection is required.
No range limits.
No voice communication or group messaging available.
