Real Time Settings in the Garmin Connect App

You can use the Garmin Connect™ app to make certain device setting changes, such as updating display settings, adjusting sounds and alerts, or customizing data screens. The app uses the Bluetooth® connection to your Garmin product, and a feature called Real Time Settings, to communicate directly with the connected watch or bike computer about any setting changes.

Not all device feature changes are supported in the Garmin Connect app. For more information on how to change a setting on your device, see your owner's manual.

Changing Device and User Settings in Garmin Connect App

NOTE: Some settings can only be changed directly on the Garmin device, in which case you may receive an "Update Setting on Device" prompt.

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. If you have more than one device, select the device you would like to make changes to.

  5. Select an option to edit (such as User Profile to set heart rate zones, or Activities & Apps to change data fields for activities).

  6. Make the desired changes.

  7. The changes will be reflected immediately on the device.
