Using the Reactor 40 Kicker Autopilot Without a GPS Source

A GPS source is not required to use the Reactor 40 Kicker Autopilot.

  • If the Garmin Reactor 40 Kicker Autopilot does not have a viable GPS source, then use Compass Setup and Fine Heading Adjustment to manually adjust autopilot heading

    • User can utilize the vessels compass or a compass app on a phone until the heading matches

    • Set North won't be available

NOTE:  Ensure the compass that is being used does not have any Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) that can alter the accuracy of the compass heading.

  • Additionally, if a GPS source is not available this process will make the Reactor 40 handheld remote control Click and Go feature more accurate

    • The Reactor 40 Handheld Remote control must have successfully completed the compass calibration for proper operation of the remote control
