Weather Overlays for Select Garmin Watches

Some Garmin® watches feature a weather app or widget glance that can provide additional weather map overlay information. This allows you to make more informed decisions since you can get detailed weather information on your watch. Weather overlay data will be retrieved via Bluetooth data connection to a smartphone. Phone location data access must be enabled for the Garmin Connect™ app in order to receive weather data on your watch. Viewing Weather Overlays

You watch has four different weather map overlays which will show precipitation, cloud cover, temperature, and wind speed and direction. When you access the weather map, the watch will attempt to connect to GPS in order to accurately display your location. If you see the blue triangle locator blinking or showing a question mark the watch has not acquired satellites yet. When the watch has locked onto GPS, the blue triangle will remain steady. If you are indoors GPS can take longer to acquire, or it may never locate you at all.

1. Press DOWN until you locate the Weather widget glance.

2. Press START to open the Weather glance.

3. Press DOWN until you see the weather map screen.

4. Press START.

5. Select Change Overlay.

6. Select an overlay.

Depending on your location, some weather information may not be available. Weather information is sent to the watch from a paired smartphone and requires a data connection.

From the weather map, press START and select Play to show weather conditions for the last hour. This can help you know which way the weather is travelling and how fast it is moving. You can also access the pan and zoom controls to view weather in other locations.
