Connecting Your vivosmart 3 to a New Phone

It is common to upgrade to a new smartphone. When you do, you'll need to setup your vívosmart® 3 watch with the Garmin Connect™ app again. Select your phone below and follow the steps to get you back up and running.

NOTE: Make sure that your old phone is turned off otherwise your vívosmart 3 will connect to it and not allow you to connect to your new phone.


Apple

For an Apple iPhone, the steps to set up your vívosmart 3 will depend on how your set up your new phone. Select your option below to reveal instructions to set up your device.


I Selected the Option to Restore From iCloud Backup

The Garmin Connect app will be partially setup with your watch. You will need to complete the pairing process:

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Grab your vívosmart 3 and place it in pairing mode. For help with this step see: Turning Bluetooth® Pairing Mode on for a vívosmart 3.

  5. From the iPhone select Add Device.

  6. Once Garmin Connect App finds the vívosmart 3, you will be prompted to enter the six-digit code displayed on the vívosmart 3 screen into the prompt box on the iPhone.

Continue to follow the onscreen prompts to complete the setup.


I Selected the Option to Set Up as New iPhone

  1. From the iPhone install the Garmin Connect app from the App Store.

  2. Grab your vívosmart 3 and place it in pairing mode. For help with this step see: Turning Bluetooth® Pairing Mode on for a vívosmart 3.

  3. From the iPhone, open the Garmin Connect app and sign into your account.

  4. Upon signing in, the app will look for the vívosmart 3. Once the Garmin Connect app finds the vívosmart 3, you will be prompted to enter the six-digit code displayed on the vívosmart 3 screen into the prompt box on the iPhone.

Continue to follow the onscreen prompts to complete the setup.



Android

If you have completed some of these steps, just skip to the one that you have not completed and go from there. This process should only take a few minutes to complete.

  1. From the new smartphone, install the Garmin Connect app from the phone's app store.

  2. Once installed, open the app and sign back into your account.

  3. At this point you will be prompted to select a device. Select the vívosmart 3.

  4. Grab your vívosmart 3 and place it in pairing mode. For help with this step see: Turning Bluetooth® Pairing Mode on for a vívosmart 3.

  5. From the phone, select Start. Garmin Connect App is searching for vívosmart 3's Bluetooth signal.

  6. Once the Garmin Connect app finds the vívosmart 3, you will be prompted to enter the six-digit code displayed on the vívosmart 3 screen into the prompt box on the phone.

Continue to follow the onscreen prompts to complete the setup of your device.
