What Is the Best Way to Stand on the Index Smart Scale?
The scales glass has four glossy sections. They are separated by a small area between these sections to form four quadrants. Two on the left side and two on the right side. Due to this design there are some recommendations in how to get the best readings on your scale.
Make sure that each foot is as ‘centered’ as possible on either side of the scale.
NOTE: Inconsistency in the vertical or horizontal placement of your feet can cause unstable results.
Vertically: This means to have roughly half of your foot on the upper and half on the lower quadrant. As much as possible avoid hanging off of the bottom edge, or having just your toes be above the dividing line.
Horizontally: This means to have roughly even amounts of space to the sides of your feet. They should not be too bunched up towards the middle, nor too widely spaced towards the edges of the scale. Your feet should not be in both the left and right halves of the top glass at the same time.
Straight: This means your feet should also be as straight as possible, not in a “V” shape. The heels should not be too close to each other.
Flat: This means your feet should be flat, not curled. Avoid moving or shuffling while the measurement is taking place.
It is important to try to weigh yourself in the same way each time. The level of moisture on your feet can impact measurements, so try as much as possible to keep a consistent routine.
