Using the Smart Notifications Privacy Feature on a fēnix 8 Watch
Smart notification privacy settings allow you to choose how you would like notifications displayed on your watch, such as when you receive a phone call or text message.
Enabling Privacy Settings
To enable the privacy setting for your watch when it is not in a focus mode, follow the steps below.
Hold UP/MENU (middle left) button.
Select Watch Settings.
Select Notifications & Alerts.
Select Smart Notifications.
Select Privacy.
Select a privacy preference:
Off: This will allow notifications and the content to display on your watch.
Press START: This will allow notifications but not the content to display. Press the START/STOP (upper right) button to view the content.
Wrist Gesture: This will allow notifications but not display content. Perform a gesture motion (rotate your wrist toward your body) to view the notification content.
Enabling Privacy Setting for During Focus Modes
You can adjust the privacy setting for while the watch is in a focus mode, such as during activities or sleep, separately from the general settings. In order to adjust the privacy settings, smart notifications must be enabled.
Hold UP/MENU (middle left) button.
Select Watch Settings.
Select Focus Modes.
Select a focus mode that you want to adjust, for example Activity.
Select Notifications & Alerts.
Select Smart Notifications.
Select Privacy.
Select a privacy preference:
Off: This will allow notifications and the contents to display on your watch.
Press START: This will allow notifications but not the contents to display. Press the START/STOP (upper right) button to view the content.
Wrist Gesture: This will allow notifications but not display content. Perform a gesture motion (rotate your wrist toward your body) to view the notification content.
