GPSMAP 66 Display Turns Off
When the Battery Save option is turned on the display will turn off when the back-light times out. This will allow the batteries to last longer while the device continues to track its location. The screen will turn back on when the Power Button is Tapped.
To Enable or Disable Battery Save Mode:
- Open Main Menu
- Select Setup
- Select Display
- Select Battery Save
The GPSMAP® 66 series outdoor handhelds also feature an Expedition Mode. Expedition Mode allows for the device to conserve even more battery. In Expedition Mode the device will stop most functions, and turn off the display when not in use. Tracking will continue in Expedition Mode, and a red light will flash on the top of the device to indicate that the device is in Expedition Mode.
Expedition Mode settings can be accessed through the Setup menu, and then choosing Expedition Mode. For additional information review the Related Content at the bottom of the page.
