Digital Globe entry on the Map Information page
You may have noticed that your Garmin outdoor GPS may contain a demo map called Digital Globe. Digital Globe is our provider for our BirdsEye satellite imagery and if this mapping is present, a small portion will be viewable on your device's map page. The demo location is the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
In order to find the demo area quickly, attached is a gpx file that contains a waypoint at the Eiffel Tower. To insert the file into your GPS:
- Download the attached file to your desktop
- Connect your GPS to the computer
- Select the Garmin Drive from your computer page or desktop (MAC)
- Select the Garmin folder
- Click and drag the file into the GPX folder
The waypoint will now be located in the GPS. To view the demo maps:
- Disconnect the device from your computer and power it on
- Select the Waypoint Manager
- Find the Digital Globe Demo waypoint
- Select View Map
A sample section of BirdsEye will now appear showing the Eiffel Tower.
