Understanding the LED Colors on the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2

The Garmin Dash Cam™ Mini 2 has a status LED light below the large save button that displays different colors depending on the device status. Below is a breakdown of the different LED meanings. Some colors can have more than one meaning.


Green

  • The device is connected to a computer.
    • The computer will not provide enough power to pair the dash cam with the Garmin Drive app
  • The memory card is being formatted.

Mini 2 Green Bottom


Flashing Green

  • The device is booting.

Mini 2 Booting

  • An update is being installed.

Mini 2 Updating


Red

  • Video is recording.

Mini 2 Recording Audio Muted

  •  Audio is being recorded.

Mini 2 Recording


Flashing Red

  • A photo or video is starting to be saved.  The animation will play for 2 seconds.
  • An incident has been detected.

Mini 2 Saving in Progress  

  • Saving a photo or video is in progress.  The animation will play for the duration of the save.

  •  There is a problem with the memory card.

Cyan

  • Voice Command

Blue/Flashing Blue and Red

  • The device is in Wi-Fi sharing mode.

Mini 2 Wi-Fi

  •  The device is in Bluetooth pairing mode (recording audio).

Mini 2 Pairing Recording Audio

  •  The device is in Bluetooth pairing mode (not recording audio).

No Light

  • The camera is not connected to a power source.
