Tide Stations on a Garmin® Device Not Showing Any Data
Many Garmin® chartplotters are preloaded with information about various coastal tide stations. These tide stations will display information about the expected tides for their area, which can be useful for navigation.
Each compatible Garmin device is programmed with a database to display this information. However, depending on the age of the device, the included database may have expired data. When this data is expired, no tide information will show on the device, and the device will display "Inaccurate Result".
A software update for the chartplotter will correct the issue for all devices except the GPS 72™, GPS 76™, and GPS 152™. Please visit the Garmin Marine Software Updates website for instructions on how to update the software for various marine devices. Once the software has been made current, the tide database should again display properly.
The tidal information on the GPS 72, GPS 76, and GPS 152 cannot be updated. In this situation, tide information must be obtained from a different source, such as a tide and pilot book for your local area.
