Bumping Sounds When the Radar Rotates

This issue is generally caused by the radar not being tightened down properly. Be sure to torque the mounting nuts to the correct specifications listed in the installation guide which came with the radar kit.

If the radar is not mounted down tightly, it can make a bumping sound whenever the radar arm on an open array radar or the magnetron inside a radar dome turns. This is due to a weight shift as the radar lifts up when it rotates and comes back down making contact with the mounting surface.
