Transferring Ownership of Your Alpha LTE Collar

If you are transferring the ownership of your Alpha® LTE collar it is important you cancel your service and reset your collar for use by the new owner/user. Removing the Alpha LTE collar from the app does not cancel your subscription or remove the device from you account. Follow the steps below to cancel your subscription and reset the device.

Cancelling an Alpha LTE subscription

If you are needing to cancel your Alpha LTE subscription you will need to log in to your Garmin Account at Garmin.com

  1. Select Garmin Account.
  2. Select Account.
  3. Login with the email associated with the subscription.
  4. Select Subscription & Service Plans.
  5. Under the LTE Dog Tracking Annual Plan select Manage.
  6. Select Cancel.
  7. Select Cancel Immediately to confirm the cancellation.

Note: Cancellation of your plan will take effect immediately. No refunds are issued for early cancellation. Any features associated with your plan will no longer work upon cancellation, including safety features for applicable products. You man lose any saved data associated with your subscription or service.


Resetting an Alpha LTE Collar

On the Alpha LTE collar:

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. Connect the charging clip to the collar.
  3. Connect the USB cable to the collar clip.
  4. Connect the USB cable to a power source (either a computer or AC wall adapter)
  5. Ensure the collar light is active to confirm connection (solid red or green)
  6. Firmly press the Power button 4 times rapidly.
  7. Wait for the LED to turn green then red an audible tone will be heard when the reset is complete.
    NOTE: If the device is fully charged showing a green LED you will see the LED turn off and back on. 
  8. Disconnect the USB cable and charging clip from the collar.

The device is now ready for a new owner.
