Note: MP4 files are high-quality videos for viewing on a computer. GLV files are lower quality videos for viewing on a phone or with the VIRB Mobile App.
Select the MP4 file of the video in the following folders to view on your computer.
The videos and photos are sorted into several folders.
- 100EVENT
- Contains videos saved automatically when the device detects and incident
- 101PHOTO
- Contains photos
- 102SAVED
- Contains videos saved manually by the user
- 103PARKM
- Contains videos saved while parked
- 104TLPSE
- Contains Travelapse videos
- Not available on the Garmin Dash Cam Mini, Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2, Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3, or Garmin Dash Cam Tandem
- 105UNSVD or 104UNSVD
- Contains unsaved footage
- The device overwrites the oldest unsaved video when the storage space for unsaved videos is full
Note on the Garmin Dash Cam Tandem:
- Front-facing footage file names begin with "GC1"
- Interior-facing footage files names begin with "GC2"
- There is no GLV generated for interior-view since the static resolution will keep the MP4 file size low enough for streaming to mobile devices.
For more info on GLV files see below.
