Map Layer Options on the zūmo XT2

Map layers allow you to view additional details on your map from the View Map screen. With map layers, you can add the following items to the map:

  • BirdsEye: BirdsEye Direct Satellite Imagery provides downloadable, high-resolution map imagery, including detailed satellite imagery and raster-based topographical maps. You can download BirdsEye Satellite Imagery directly to your device when it is connected to a Wi‑Fi network.

  • Topographic: Displays unpaved/dirt roads for Off-Road activities and is tailored to match the look and feel of the City Navigator maps.

  • Popular Paths (Moto): Highlights popular motorcycle paths on the map. This can help you choose roads that provide a more enjoyable ride.

  • Collections: Displays collections from Garmin Explore™ (Only available when Garmin Explore™ is Enabled).

  • Campgrounds: Displays a icon  where campgrounds are located on the map.

  • Unsaved Tracks: Displays unsaved tracks from the devices travel history on the map.

  • Contour Lines: Displays contour lines that include elevation information.

  • 3d Terrain: Displays map contours at low zoom levels, giving you a realistic perspective of the terrain in available areas.

  • National Parks: Displays a icon where national parks are located on the map.

  • Traffic: Displays traffic condition on the map.

  • Up Ahead Places: The Up Ahead tool provides information about upcoming locations along your route or the road on which you are traveling. You can view upcoming points of interest by category, such as restaurants, fuel stations, or rest areas.

To Enable Map Layers:

1. Touch View Map

 

2. Touch the Map Layers icon 

 

3. Touch the map layer you want to enable

    • When enabled the letters for the map layer will turn blue.

 

4. Touch More Layers to access additional map layers

 

5. Place a checkmark next to the additional map layers you want to enable
